This calls for some dress porn.
Nanette Lepore "Lucky Charm" Dress I've wanted for six months:

What I would wear on afternoon larks if I could make it from silk and printed muslin, choose different colors, add fine details, and convince fashionistas and designers to once again embrace the Edwardian tea gown. And regularly host a Care Bears Tea Party to boot:

What? I'm a romantic. I've always been a romantic. I like this about myself.
Besides. It's not like you've never yearned to prance about in an Edwardian tea gown. Everyone has. You haven't fooled me.
Readers, I appreciate every day of your support of my journey to Scientisthood. Your encouragement does not go to waste, and I hope that I may return the favor in full every time it is given.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I hope you have a most fabulous day and engage in fantastic dress porn. I prefer my Edwardian Tea Gowns on my Sims and not on me, but I can appreciate that for some crazy people wearing them can be considered fun . And by crazy I mean Fantastic and Fabulous.
Happy Birthday.

Shhh!! I don't want everyone to know that about me.....
I was actually offered a free membership into Portland's Regency Society, because during the last Keep Portland Weird festival, I was carrying an umbrella and they were quite impressed by my ability to handle a cane. That and my occasionally "stuffy" speech patterns and mannerisms.
Although they wanted to see me in a real tux (you know, the kind with tails and frills), rather than a tea gown.
Tell you what, the next time I'm out in Cali, we'll do tea. I'll wear tails and carry a cane, you can wear that sexy gown, fuck anyone who finds it the least bit odd..... We can even go dancing in the evening (though I should warn you, I am not a dancer).
AARRGGHH!!
Now I have Tea In The Sahar by The Police running through my head.
happy birthday!!!
Happy Birthday, Juniper!
Best wishes from another 1980 baby!
Happy birthday, Juniper!! You're very welcome to borrow my pink toe socks to wear with your Edwardian tea gown - I think that would prove to be a sensational combination :) Hope you have a great day.
A very happy birthday, Juniper (even if I am more a thirties fashion girl than Edwardian)!
Happy Birthday!
I can safely say I've never fancied wearing a tea-gown... because my imagination insists on being pragmatic about how badly they would stain, tear, and look on my rather... generous figure. But I've had very similar thoughts about late Elizabethan dresses with standing ruffs...
Happy Birthday! I love the dresses.
I hope you have a great one! And I didn't even know what an Edwardian tea gown was until today. Thank you. I, too, shall fantasize about prancing in it!
happy birthday young 'un!!!!
Oooh, Happy Birthday!!! :) And SQUEE, Edwardian tea gown!!!!! I really like the other dress, too, but Edwardian tea gown hits me where I live, which is in an Edward Gorey rhyming picture book. (is a Perky Goth, SHHHHHHHH TELL NO ONE!!!!)
Yes! Edwardian tea gown For The Win!
You guys are the best. I'm going to have to answer you all, in that really awkward manner that I assume when I'm touched and I get all sappy:
Hermitage,
Sims? Really? Aren't you usually more hard-core than that? I'm just sayin'.
DuWayne,
LOL! As an official Nerd Girl, I have always swooned over guys who can't help their occasionally stuffy speech patterns and mannerisms. Alas, I cannot dance, either. But it was a lovely thought.
Phizzle, thank you. BTW, if your purple shoes look the same in real life as they do onscreen, they are sooooo cute!
Jumping,
1980 was a good year to be born in! And, next year, we'll be the pioneers of the 80's kids, venturing into an age bracket where no 80's kid has gone before . . . :)
You have to let us know when your birthday arrives, so that we can celebrate yours, too.
PiT,

Dudette. You may be awesome, but that's just wrong. Generous, but wrong. We must not even speak of tea gowns and toe socks in the same sentence. But don't worry; I forgive you.
Hi Stephanie!
I have to admit, 30's evening gowns and day suits represent the height of 20th century sophistication in fashion. I gather that you are a more poised being than I. Well, actually, I gathered that, like, forty blog posts of your ago. Sigh.
JaneB!
Nice to see you here! I hope my woefully adrift M and T series has not overly annoyed you. I'm working on it.
Late Elizabethan dresses with standing ruffs sound like an excellent idea for a professor in your situation. Think about it. If you arrived on campus dressed gloriously thus, none of your colleagues would ever treat you with impunity again!
Dear Ambivalent Academic,
Thanks. BTW, I am an INTJ, too. A super INTJ. We rawk.
I took the Washington U. personality test, too. If I were crazy, I would post my results. :)
Mimi, you work on a butterfly farm? Wow. That sounds like a beautifully peaceful enterprise. Though, maybe I'm wrong . . . Thanks for stopping by! I am so excited that I've introduced yet another person to the Edwardian tea gown!
DrugMonkey,
Awwwww. Thanks.
Perky Skeptic,
ROFLMAO! You're a "Perky Goth"?! Only you.
The world would be a better place if we could don Edwardian tea gowns whenever we felt like it. I swear.
Thank you all for a wonderful blogger birthday!!!!111!!!!11!!!
These are delicious! Especially that last one. Happy birthday, dear blog friend.
Next year, I will invite you to participate in Princess Week with my friends and I. During this week we wear huge gaudy tiaras and allow everyone we know to take us to lunch. That dress would be totally appropriate for Princess Week tea.

REALLY?1!!!1111!!!!!
I would LOVE to come to Princess Week tea. I am so there. Tiara in hand.
P.S. It is a big deal, when the Goddess allows one to take her to lunch. I'm sure Mr. Isis, as well as your friends, can attest to this.
Sorry for the late birthday wishes, but January 24 happens to be my birthday too.
I am very clothing challenged, if it isn't a flannel shirt, I don't know how to wear it properly.

Dude! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! That's awesome.
I am very clothing challenged, if it isn't a flannel shirt, I don't know how to wear it properly.
When I was a teenager, this was practically true of me, too. :)
It has been many years since I have been a teenager. My clothing challenge has not gotten any better, but I have learned to accept it.
Happy Birthday Juniper! Sorry I was late to the party. Hope you had a most spectacular day.
No worries, ScientistMother! Thank you!
Happy belated bday, Juniper! Hope your day was fabulouso.
It was awesome, CE. Thank you!
